Feline Stomatitis
Hi ,My name is Morgan. I am a cat mom to a 5 year old tabby named Felix. When I adopted Felix from a shelter I was told he stresses out when moved from different environments. After sometime being with us he developed eye issues, allergies & mouth pain. After multiple vet visits & medications for eye infections it was clear that was not the problem. We chose another vet and instantly was told he had Feline Stomatisis. If you are not familiar with this disease here is some info I'll provide below. We were told he was allergic to his own tarter and needed cortisone shots every few months and prednisone to relieve the pain & inflammation. Eventually he would need some or all teeth removed. So down the road we decided on another vet with better ratings & we made an appt. , he was examined and we were told he needed surgery and date was set.
